This is the story of William Loeb, the controversial, powerful, colorful publisher of the Manchester Union Leader. His brash advocacy of conservative politics and his use of the newspaper to verbally bludgeon those who opposed him made Loeb a powerful force. Some say he is the reason New Hampshire doesn’t have an income tax. Some say he is the reason Ronald Regan became President. Love him or hate him, New Hampshire is still feeling the affects of his 35 year reign.
