A busy Michael DelloIacono serves many in many positions

CONCORD – Michael DelloIacono is busy. He serves on numerous boards and committees, works to grow his business, promotes Concord and its young professionals, and manages to carve out time for his two young children.
This year he takes on a new challenge, Concord city councilor, winning one of the two at-large seats up for election last November.
“As a business owner in town, I’m deeply involved in taxes and economic development,” DelloIacono said. “I saw a situation where I could get into local politics and make a difference, so I decided to run.”
During the campaign, he stressed economic development – particularly in the city’s downtown – and doing a better job of promoting the city, something that he’s passionate about.
DelloIacono, 35, is vice president of J Maze Design, a Web site design and development firm his wife, Jennifer Mazzei, began 10 years ago, and he joined two years later as a programmer, marketer and salesman.
Based in Concord since 2003, the company began with Mazzei selling her artwork online, but DelloIacono noted, people were attracted to her Web site, and the Web site design firm was born.
Today, the company employs five people in its offices on Franklin Street. Its clients range from Pats Peak, the Northern New England Real Estate Network, the Dupont Group, and the Concord Chamber of Commerce. “We don’t outsource anything. We even have our own servers at a co-location center in Manchester,” he said.
One of the founders of the Concord Young Professionals Network, earlier this year DelloIacono was named the organization’s Young Professional of the Year.
DelloIacono wants the city to be friendlier to young professionals, but he also wants his colleagues to be more active in the community.
“I want to help city government understand we are here and we can make a difference, DelloIacono said. “We are young, but we care about the community. We’re not here just to party and have a good time.”
